Dena Rash Guzman
Born in Las Vegas Nevada, H.A.L.’s Managing Director Dena Rash Guzman is a frequent visitor to Shanghai, lives on a farm outside Portland, Oregon, where she founded the literary journal Unshod Quills in 2010. A cofounder and coproducer of the Shanghai Tunnels International Video Poetry Festival in 2011, she also co-produces the Portland literary series Unchaste Readers. Her work can be found online at the Rumpus, Thrush and ducts.org among other, and in print in several anthologies, including the short stories “Big Plastic Bags” and “Saltwater”, with Björn Wahlström, in H.A.L.’s Middle Kingdom Underground and “Manta Ray Mantra” in H.A.L.’s Party Like It’s 1984.

Her first collection of poetry and prose will be released by Dog On A Chain Press in the United States in 2012, with distribution by H.A.L. in Asia.
